Tottenham Hotspur fans react as report claims Rangers worried Spurs could target Steven Gerrard

Rangers chiefs are becoming increasingly worried that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move to raid the Ibrox club for Steven Gerrard. Reports claim that Rangers are concerned that Spurs failing to get a manager could lead them to Gerrard – and Tottenham fans are keen on a move for Gerrard.

Gerrard, 41, has been excellent since arriving in the dugout at Rangers. He took over from Graeme Murty, and has slowly improved the Gers season upon season. He has made the Scottish side a force in Europe, and has now guided them to an unbeaten season – stopping Celtic’s 10 in a row.

that those at Rangers are worried about Gerrard – and a potential approach from Tottenham. Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso and others were targets – but the North London club have failed to get them. Gerrard could be eyed.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Rangers boss Gerrard?

The report also states that Rangers are desperate to tie Gerrard’s future down to a longer-term deal. However, an offer earlier this summer from an unnamed Premier League club has delayed Gerrard’s signature. He does seem likely to remain at Rangers for the 2021-22 campaign, though.

However, if Tottenham come calling – it might prove too tempting to turn down for the ex-England gaffer. Spurs fans responded to the reports that Gerrard could be targeted with Rangers concerned, and many believe he would be a decent addition as Jose Mourinho’s eventual replacement.
