Tottenham have started talks to sign ‘fantastic’ £29m defender who has already starred at Euro 2024
Tottenham are looking to strengthen the squad this summer and have apparently started talks over a player starring at Euro 2024.
Spurs want to make quick signings this summer and will have a keen eye on the Euros as they look for players who are impressing over in Germany.
Ange Postecoglou has made no secret of his desire to strengthen and like last summer, the Aussie will be keen to get business done and dusted early.
A new defender is thought to be high on the agenda for Postecoglou.
And according to a report from , talks have already started over signing one of Italy’s top defenders.
Tottenham start talks to sign Riccardo Calafiori
According to the report from , Tottenham have held talks about signing Calafiori this summer from Bologna.
Spurs are thought to be among a host of clubs keen on Calafiori, who has enjoyed a standout season playing under Thiago Motta.

As always, Italian giants like Juventus and AC Milan are keen on the defender, while Chelsea and Newcastle are among those interested in England.
It’s suggested, though, that Tottenham and Newcastle are the two teams who have actually held initial talks about signing the Italian.
Bologna want around £29m for Calafiori, who has already put in one impressive performance at the Euros this summer as Italy beat Albania yesterday.
Calafiori would give Tottenham quite the back three
While Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are both top defenders, it’s been clear for some time now that Tottenham want another.
Calafiori, then, seems an obvious target given the price range and his current club.
Lauded by Fabrizio Romano as a ‘‘ defender, Calafiori could go a long way by having a big Euros over in Germany this summer.
Of course, Tottenham will do well to sign him given the amount of interest here.
But Calafiori does look to have all the tools and if Tottenham are serious, he’s the sort of player they need to be looking at this summer.
