Tottenham have secured very important clause in Mathys Tel loan deal from Bayern Munich
Tottenham are close to announcing the signing of Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich.
꧒Spurs did not seem likely to sign the France U21 international before the 11pm deadline, after the 19-year-old opted to reject the north Londoners last week.
However, Tel changed his mind on a move to Tottenham🌞 out of the blue on the afternoon of transfer deadline day, swiftly jetting off to England to undergo a medical with Spurs.
Arsenal also looked at Tel – but decided not to rival Tottenham for his signature.
Many expected Mathys Tel to join Tottenham in a simple loan including no🤪 option or obligation to buy after he initially rejected them – although an interesting detail has now emerged.
Tottenham shake hands with Bayern Munich on Mathys Tel purchase option
The now reveal that Tottenham haveꦰ managed to negotiate a summer option to buy in the loan agreement with Bayern Munich.

Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe claimed earlier in the day that Tottenham were pushing Bayern Munich𝄹 to include such an option – and it seems their efforts have now paid off as the Bundesliga side agree to the request.
𒊎Tel has made 14 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions so far this season, failing to score with just one assist to show for his efforts.
How much Tottenham could be able to sign Mathys Tel for
🍰Unfortunately, the Evening Standard – nor any other outlet for that matter at the moment – do not disclose how much this purchase option is worth.
ꦫ12 – Mathys Tel scored 12 goals in 60 Bundesliga games for FC Bayern Munich – only Jamal Musiala (21) and Uli Hoeneß (13) have scored more BL goals for the Bavarian side as teenagers. Au-revoir?

🦩However, before the teenager initially rejected Spurs, Tottenham and Bayern Munich agreed a £50m fee for a permanent sale, so we can only assume that figure is still in place.
Ange Postecoglou is said to have convinced Tel🥀 to join after a conversation on the phone, which has seemingly made all the difference as we experience one of the biggest U-turns in deadline day history.
