Tottenham have just poached ‘highly rated’ recruitment expert from Southampton
Amid all of the changes at Tottenham Hotspur this season, the club have now pinched a recruitment expert from Southampton.
Judging by Spurs’ success in the Premier League 2 last season, they’re academy recruitment is already proving incredibly successful.
Wednesday night’s 5-1 pre-season win against Hearts was a celebratory moment in that regard, when so many of the club’s homegrown talents impressed.
Of course, 16-year-old Mikey Moore is the poster boy in that regard, who grabbed his first senior goal in the win.
It would be a huge surprise if Ange Postecoglou didn’t intend to hand the exciting youngster some kind of role in the first-team this season.
Moore made two substitute appearances in the Premier League last campaign, and Postecoglou won’t want to slow down his progress.

That being said, Spurs look set for more academy success in the future after hiring Southampton’s head of national recruitment, Simon Jones.
The news comes via who say that ‘highly rated’ Jones will reunite with Jack Chapman at the club.
Recruitment expert Simon Jones will follow Jack Chapman to Tottenham
Chapman, who is Spurs’ new head of academy recruitment, also joined Tottenham earlier in the summer from Southampton.
And although the club have evidently been enjoying success with their youth recruitment to date, it seems as if they’re not standing still.
Jones, who will be the latest addition, joined Southampton from Birmingham in 2021, initially as a lead regional scout and but was quickly promoted to the head of national recruitment,
Postecoglou has recently lost a member of his coaching staff, so supporters will be pleased to see the club taking initiative elsewhere.
Tottenham also chasing next transfer move after Archie Gray success
Of course, it also seems as if the club aren’t standing still on the transfer front either.
Tottenham have been sensationally linked with a late move for Scott McTominay, who is of interest to Fulham.
It still feels as if Spurs need to add goals before the new season arrives, and perhaps McTominay could provide a considerable threat from midfield.
However, many in north London would likely still prefer Eberechi Eze to be the club’s priority signing.
Tottenham have made an enquiry for Eze, and it seems as if they could press forwards now the Euros are concluded.
