Tottenham have asked Atalanta about signing Ederson

Tottenham have done excellent business in this transfer window already.

Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin are both fantastic additions, while Spurs have also freed up space in their squad by offloading the likes of Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris and Ivan Perisic.

The focus now, clearly, is on a new midfielder. Ange Postecoglou‘s side have been linked with plenty of names already, including Ederson, who has been one of the most impressive midfielders in the Serie A this season.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has also been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days, but Spurs are the ones who have tried their luck.

reveal today that Tottenham approached Atalanta and asked them about signing Ederson before the window shuts next week.

Sadly for Postecoglou, the report claims La Dea said ‘no’ to Spurs and are adamant Ederson will not leave the club until at least the summer.

Ederson has made more tackles than Cristian Romero

If you think about Tottenham and tackling, the first name that comes to mind has to be Cristian Romero.

The Argentine is a fearless defender. He’s extremely aggressive, will put his body on the line to win the ball back and is adored by Spurs fans for his style of play.

Romero has attempted 46 tackles and won 40 of them in the Premier League so far this season ().

Ederson, on the other hand, has made 68 tackles and won 57 of them. He has a slightly lower success rate compared to Romero, but the volume is much higher, which shows he isn’t afraid to get stuck in ().

A move in the next few days looks unlikely, but Ederson is definitely one to keep an eye on in the coming months for a potential transfer in the summer.
