Tottenham have ‘genuine interest’ in £15m midfielder likened to Jack Wilshere
Tottenham Hotspur hit the ground running in the January transfer window by landing Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin early on in the month.
Since then, things have slowed down on the Spurs transfer front, but speculation continues to do the rounds with regards to prospective targets.
While much of the speculation has been about Antonio Nusa, there have been links with other players too, such as Adam Wharton.
In November, reported that Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs in pursuit of the Blackburn Rovers midfielder.

More recently, Dean Jones claimed on the that Wharton is one “worth keeping an eye on”, adding that Spurs “could get him for around £10million”.
As well as Tottenham, fellow Premier League Londoners Crystal Palace have been linked with the 19-year-old talent.
, the Eagles could soon make a £15million move for Wharton, with Palace seemingly hopeful of reaching an agreement quickly.
‘Genuine interest’ in Adam Wharton from Tottenham
Now, Jones has provided a further update on the state of play involving Wharton and Spurs on .
The transfer insider suggested that any deal involving the Rovers man would be dependent on whether Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg stays put at Tottenham.
“At the moment, I’m not even convinced that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will actually leave and I think the next few days will be very telling as to whether that does happen or not,” said Jones.
“So there is genuine interest in Wharton. I’d have said previously that if there was a queue for him, then Tottenham would have been at the front of it [before the Crystal Palace interest].
“Blackburn really don’t want to lose him right now and they would much prefer they came back for him in the summer if they’re going to do that.”

Tottenham have been making a big effort in signing talented prospects with a view to becoming future first-team stars, such as Pape Matar Sarr, Destiny Udogie and Ashley Phillips.
Wharton fits in that category. At just 19 years of age, he has already clocked up 51 competitive appearances for Blackburn, and looks like he has a great future ahead of him.
wrote in September: “Adam Wharton is a box to box player who has the stamina and work rate to be equally as effective on both ends of the pitch.
“On the ball he has fantastic technical ability and is more than capable using both feet with no reduction in quality.
“His aggressive nature and strong desire to win the ball and his lovely technical ability when breaking the lines with either his passing or strong ball carrying solo runs are all very similar to a young Jack Wilshere when he was breaking through and rising at Arsenal before injuries derailed his career.”
