Tottenham have decided the maximum price they are willing to pay for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in signing Chelsea star Conor Gallagher has not gone away.
The Englishman has been on Spurs’ radar since the summer of 2023, and there have been constant links between the two parties since.
Many people expected Tottenham to make a move for Gallagher in June to take advantage of Chelsea’s problems with PSR, but nothing happened then.
However, that could change in the coming weeks.
How much Tottenham are ready to pay to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea
Gallagher has been described as Ange Postecoglou’s dream signing at Tottenham this summer.
The Chelsea star has entered the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and there have been no updates on an extension of that deal.
Reports have even claimed that Chelsea are concerned Gallagher will not fit in Enzo Maresca’s system.
The midfielder, who was a part of England’s Euro 2024 squad, is now free to decide on his future, and Tottenham remain keen on his services.
That’s according to Ben Jacobs’ article on . The journalist has revealed that Spurs are expected to make a bid for Gallagher. They are still interested.
The reason why Tottenham haven’t made any move yet is because Gallagher’s agents made it clear to them that ‘they didn’t want any Euro 2024 distractions’.
Chelsea remain adamant that they want a fee in excess of £50 million for Gallagher. They think he’s worth around the same fee that Manchester United paid for Mason Mount in 2023.
However, Tottenham have no interest in meeting those demands.
The report claims that Spurs valued Gallagher at £35 million at the same stage last year and ‘they have no plans to go too far north of this’.
The maximum price Spurs would be willing to pay is £40 million – the same fee they paid to sign James Maddison from Leicester City in 2023.

Gallagher’s stance on his future amid Tottenham links
It has been clear for a long time that Tottenham want to sign Gallagher.
Chelsea have been aware of Spurs’ interest as well, and they are ready to let him go as long as their valuation is met this summer
However, the report claims that Gallagher is content to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place under Maresca.
The Englishman also hasn’t ruled out the possibility of running down his contract and entering free agency in 2025.
Chelsea are desperate to avoid that scenario, which could be good news for Tottenham as it may force the Blues to sell him for a lower fee this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next year.
