Tottenham have a potential issue if they try to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace
Eberechi Eze has been one of Tottenham’s main transfer targets heading into this summer transfer window.
Spurs are said to be very keen on signing the England international, but, unfortunately, this deal may not be straightforward.
Indeed, not only would Eze be an expensive acquisition for Tottenham, according to Mike McGrath, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Tottenham may struggle with the level of competition from Champions League clubs in Eze.

Tottenham’s Eberechi Eze stumbling block
McGrath shared what he knows about Eze.
“Eze was always the one people thought was least likely to move quickly out of Palace. I think it will be devastating to lose all of them. With Eze I’ve always thought the main stumbling block would be other clubs. He is at a level where a Champions League team would look at him,” McGrath said.

Eberechi Eze has other suitors
McGrath is right, Champions League clubs could come in for Eze, and that is a big problem.
Arsenal have been linked with Eze, and after selling Julian Alvarez, Manchester City have come into some money, so perhaps they could go for the England star.
It has been reported that Eze would prefer a move to Manchester City this summer, and if the Premier League champions come calling, it may be curtains for Tottenham in terms of their pursuit of the player.
Eze is certainly good enough to play for a Champions League club, and if either Arsenal, City or another European giant come calling, Spurs may find themselves out of this race.
That said, Tottenham did recently beat Bayern Munich and Barcelona to the respective signings of Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall, so it’s impossible to fully discount Spurs.
This remains a situation worth keeping a close eye on this summer.
