Report: Tottenham in talks with ex-Serie A man who brought ‘sense of belonging’; move for Fonseca broke down
Talks with Paulo Fonseca have broken down with Tottenham Hotspur now turning to Gennaro Gattuso.
According to , a deal for the Portuguese manager broke down due to taxes. It is being claimed that the former AS Roma manager had tax advantages from an Italian law that is not applicable in the UK.
As a result of the deal with Fonseca being 100% off, the club is now in talks with Gattuso. The former AC Milan figure left his job as Fiorentina coach earlier today after just 22 days in charge.
It is being claimed that the Italian left his role with the Serie A outfit after a disagreement over transfer strategies.
This is the second time talks have failed with a prospective candidate for the vacancy. Antonio Conte was also in advanced talks before the two parties called off the move due to various reasons.
