Tottenham fans think Liverpool selling player hands them a big boost

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the sale of Xherdan Shaqiri after he was spotted in France, ahead of a move to Lyon. The French club are keen to push a deal through, after an appalling start to Ligue 1. Tottenham fans think Liverpool selling Shaqiri helps them sign midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Shaqiri, 29, hs struggled at Liverpool in his three seasons at the club – clocking up 63 appearances for the Reds. Injury, competition and a lack of momentum has limited the 96-time Switzerland international’s progress. the two clubs have agreed a £9.5million fee.

What are Tottenham fans saying, as Liverpool look set to sell Shaqiri?

posted a picture of Shaqiri in Lyon on Twitter – as he arrives to undergo a medical. It means that Lyon are bringing in a player, where there already options in attacking midfield. Of course, France international Aouar has been constantly linked with a move to England.

state that Aouar, 23, is a player well-liked at Tottenham and over the weekend, Spurs made an offer. They wanted a deal that would have seen Tanguy Ndombele go to Lyon and Aouar to Spurs – but Lyon boss Peter Bosz turned down a move. Ndombele’s wages are likely to be an issue.

But Tottenham are likely to sell take a look at Aouar, but perhaps as part of a dry move. The signing of Shaqiri might see Lyon open to the sale of their no.8 Aouar, at least, that is the opinion of Tottenham fans. The window’s deadline is growing closer and Spurs supporters are keen for more arrivals.
