Tottenham fans rip into Danny Rose for England performance

Danny Rose played in England’s 2-1 defeat against Czech Republic – and some Tottenham fans crushed their defender on Twitter for his international performance.

The Spurs left-back played 90 minutes in the away loss against Czech Republic, as they surrendered a one-goal lead given to them by Harry Kane’s penalty.

Gareth Southgate are still on course to qualify for the European Championships, but Friday night’s defeat was a wake up call for several players.

Rose will miss the next qualifier against Bulgaria on Monday night through suspension and it’s likely that Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell is going to replace him.

The 29-year-old has been part of a Spurs team suffering before the international break and he played in the 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich.

He was uncomfortable at full-back defensively in an England shirt and offered very little going forward, something he’s usually done well during his career.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media singled out Rose for major criticism after his efforts on the international stage.

The 29-year-old has certainly taken huge steps backwards this season in terms of his form and is days in Southgate’s team are surely numbered.

He has started three of the last four matches for the Three Lions, but many feel that rising talent Chilwell should leapfrog him in the pecking order.
