Thomas Frank wants Tottenham to hijack Man United’s Bryan Mbeumo move

Thomas Frank has asked Tottenham Hotspur to hijack Manchester United’s move for his soon-to-be former Brentford colleague, Bryan Mbeumo, according to the .

TBR Football understands that Man United will make another Mbeumo bid next week, but reports elsewhere now suggest they could face competition.

Spurs could make an exciting pitch to the Cameroonian international by offering him Champions League football and the chance to continue working with Frank.

The current Brentford boss has done so much for the career of the 25-year-old and he may feel he could continue to improve best by remaining under his tutelage.

Speaking about Frank, Mbeumo said: “I think there are always things you can improve in your life, or in general in football. You can have stronger assets, but you can always have weaker areas, and I think Thomas found them well in me.”

The Lilywhites will face a strong battle against United, however, the club’s supporters have been reacting to the possibility of taking the forward to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

One fan said: “Getting Mbeumo in early would be huge for building momentum. Add a few key reinforcements and Frank’s ideas can really start to click.”

Another claimed: “Bryan Mbeumo is someone I wasn’t keen on signing under Ange as I had doubts on how he’d fit the system. But under his former manager Frank, it seems a no-brainer.”

There were further calls for Mbuemo to be targeted: “Still gutted about Ange but pretty excited for Thomas Frank at Spurs. If he can bring Mbeumo as well, that would be an unreal start.”

Finally, another fan said: “My manager is already making big moves, I feel good going into the Thomas Frank era. Bryan Mbeumo would be an unbelievable signing if we managed to hijack the deal.”

Spurs’ offer would also include bonuses, although it is believed United are offering £150,000-per-week rising to £200,000-per-week.
