Tottenham fans react to Nuno claim after West Ham defeat
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from Nuno Espirito Santo in the wake of their defeat to West Ham – with many left baffled by their boss.
Spurs suffered their second defeat in a handful of days with Michail Antonio bagging the only goal during the second-half at the London Stadium.

Up until that point, it did appear that the game may end up goalless. Both sides had their moments to burst into the final third.
However, neither Lukasz Fabianski or Hugo Lloris seemed to be given a whole lot to do – despite both producing some superb stops.

It seemed to be another day that added to the pressure on Nuno. The fans struggled to pick out more than a couple of players who deserved any sort of credit.
But it appears that the Tottenham boss took a completely different view on the game, as he was asked if he could pick out any positives.
“Not too many but when you lose a game like today that I believe we were the better team, the only positive is feeling that there are aspects to improve that will guide us to winning more matches,” he said, .
Unfortunately for Nuno, his claim that Spurs were better has not gone down at all well amongst some of their fans on social media.
Many simply cannot agree with how the Portuguese saw the game. And for some, it is further proof that he is not right for the job.
‘No, we weren’t’: Tottenham fans react to what Nuno said after West Ham defeat
Nuno has always struggled to silence all of his doubters during his time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And there is a belief that the standards need to be a lot higher.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Tottenham fans have reacted to his comments…
No we weren’t
— Yo, TK! (@khoase_)
If our aim was to win without scoring any goals or even shooting then yeah we were the better team
— clueless-genius (@ChandraChetty)
Do me a favour
— George Harman (@Georgeharman_)
That just confirms Nuno is not up to it. He doesn’t see things correctly. Tactically poor
— Richard Porter (@lubimets)
Absolutely mental. Needs to go
— Reg (@SektionUK)
For 25 minutes maybe. We didn’t register a proper shot in the second half, this can’t a serious quote surely..
— Dillon (@DillonGomes)
We have now lost all 4 London Derby games, and we’re once again clueless. There is no real improvement, and if that is the best he can manage, then sadly its time to go.

Wow. What game was he watching
— jason simons (@jasonsimons05)
What a joke. He really isn’t the manager we need. Panic appointment.
