Tottenham fans react to Alderweireld comments about why he left

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans were heartened by comments from Toby Alderweireld about why he left the club.

What’s the story?

In a press conference for Belgium, via , the central defender revealed he departed N17 because of his kids.

Alderweireld claimed during his time at Spurs that he would rarely see his children.

The Belgium international also claimed his move to Qatar was slightly motivated by money.

Alderweireld departed the club for Qatari outfit Al-Duhail for £13m earlier in the summer. The ace made over for Spurs, scoring nine times.

During a season of struggle last time out, the defender played just in the Premier League.

He was replaced by Argentine ace Cristian Romero, who joined on an initial loan deal.
