Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Toby Alderweireld announcement

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Toby Alderweireld will attend Thursday’s clash with Vitesse and meet the supporters.

It has been a monumental week for Spurs already. It was announced on Monday that Nuno Espirito Santo had lost his job after only arriving in the summer.

Nuno had endured a tough time in North London. Tottenham led the Premier League table after the first international break. But he went on to lose five of his next seven in the top flight.

Along the way, there was also a hugely disappointing loss away at Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.

But Tottenham responded swiftly and announced the day after Nuno’s departure that Antonio Conte has come in as his replacement.

Immediately, Spurs have gone from being a team in disarray to being the side to watch out for moving forward.

And the Conte era starts with the reverse fixture with Vitesse on Thursday.

It remains to be seen if Conte will be on the touchline for the game. But he will almost certainly be attending the fixture.

And another figure set to be in North London for the clash is Alderweireld. that the centre-back will be at the ground to meet some of the fans.
