Tottenham fans react as report claims Marcel Sabitzer is number one summer priority

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer this summer and have made the Austrian midfielder the club’s number one priority – which has delighted Spurs fans on Twitter.

Sabitzer, 26, has starred for Leipzig once again this season – scoring 15 goals from midfield and laying on another eight assists in 35 league and cup outings. The skipper scored a brace against Tottenham in the Champions League recently.

that midfielder Sabitzer is now a target for Spurs after his performances over the two legs impressed Jose Mourinho. It is claimed in the report that Spurs have a summer war chest of £130million.

Of that nine-figure fee, Spurs are willing to spend £45million to sign Sabitzer. Tottenham do have options in the middle of the park, especially after signing Gio Lo Celso, Gedson Fernandes and Tanguy Ndombele this season.

Lo Celso has been a hit, but Jose Mourinho is clearly not a fan of French midfielder Ndombele. Gedson has endured a slow start but he has hardly been given the opportunity to impress, starting just two of his nine outings.

Tottenham fans reacted to the reported news that Spurs could bring in another midfielder in the form of Sabitzer, and having watched him tear apart the Tottenham defence in Germany earlier this month, Spurs fans want him signed.
