Tottenham fans react as Real Madrid reportedly eye Serge Aurier

Serge Aurier has been a source of frustration for Tottenham Hotspur fans for much of the season but the Ivory Coast captain could be set for a huge summer move to Real Madrid according to report – and Spurs fans have reacted.

Aurier, 28, has started the last five Premier League games for Spurs as manager Ryan Mason has seemingly made the defender first choice above Matt Doherty. The ex-Wolves man has struggled in North London since his move.

He is set to enter the last 12 months of his contract at Spurs and Aurier is likely to be sold in the coming months. Indeed, state that Spurs want around £10.5million – with Spanish giants Real Madrid said to be keen.

Madrid want him as cover for Dani Carvajal while Mauricio Pochettino is said to have been in talks with the player he brought to Tottenham – over a potential move that would see ex-Toulouse ace Aurier return to PSG.

Madrid remain in the midst of a brilliant title race in Spain. With three games to play, Madrid sit in second but level on points with third-placed Barcelona while Kieran Trippier’s Atletico Madrid sit top – two points clear.

Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Aurier has been linked with a move to Real Madrid ahead of the summer window, and many are stunned that the right back could be about to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
