Tottenham fans react as Mauricio Pochettino completes move to lure Sergio Ramos to PSG
after his contract at Real Madrid had come to an end. The Spain veteran joins PSG on a two-year contract, as Mauricio Pochettino continues his revolution at the French club. Tottenham fans have reacted to Pochettino signing Ramos.
Ramos, 35, clocked up a whopping 671 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions during the 16 years he was at the club. But after a breakdown in contract talks, the 180-time Spain international has penned a deal with Pochettino’s PSG. It is a massive signing for the French giants this summer.
PSG have already secured a deal for Gini Wijnaldum from Liverpool on a free transfer. They are expected to get another Bosman over the line for Gianluigi Donnarumma from Milan – when Euro 2020 comes to an end. A big-money deal for Inter star Achraf Hakimi is also on the horizon.
What have Tottenham fans said about Pochettino signing Ramos for PSG?
Clearly, it is a far cry from working under the tight stronghold placed on Tottenham’s coffers by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. Pochettino worked with little financial support but still got Spurs into the Champions League final. Now, he is showing what he can do with some money to spend.
Donnarumma, Wijnaldum, Hakimi and Ramos are four incredible signings. For Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo to get those deals done in one window is immense. It makes them a real force in France and Europe again. But Tottenham fans think it also ends any chance of a return.
