Tottenham fans react as Marcus Edwards joins Vitoria on permanent deal
Tottenham Hotspur have sold Marcus Edwards to Vitoria on a permanent deal, . After coming through the ranks at Tottenham, Edwards departs to pursue his career in the Portuguese top-flight.
The 20-year-old played one match for Spurs, coming on as a substitute against Gillingham in the EFL Cup. It was around this time that Mauricio Pochettino compared him to Lionel Messi.
But Edwards has never lived up to the hype and he now departs without any further Spurs appearances to his name. The diminutive left-footed midfielder spent time on loan at Norwich City (cut short after one game) and Excelsior.

Last season, he scored two goals and provided four assists in the Eredivisie for Dutch side Excelsior. But this was not enough to convince Pochettino to give him a Spurs lifeline.
Upon leaving Tottenham, Edwards took to Twitter to share a farewell message with the fans. : “After 14 years at it’s the right time for me to start the next phase of my career. Thank you to everyone who’s helped me get this far, the learning process never stops and I’m excited to continue at “.

Hopefully there is a buy back clause or at least a high sell on clause. Good Luck Marcus ?

What a waste of talent. Wish he could’ve got his head down and stayed more focused.

What a waste of talent, he just couldn’t sort out the attitude and knuckle down. He’ll be the next John Bostock.
