Tottenham fans react as Ben Davies impresses at Everton

Tottenham fans have praised Ben Davies for his performance on the left of a back three against Everton – as Antonio Conte’s side earned a clean sheet.

Davies, 28, has played every minute of both matches under Conte. The Italian using Davies as a left-sided centre-back, in his notorious back three.

Having played well against Vitesse Arnhem in the week, Davies was tasked with helping Tottenham keep a clean sheet against Everton on Sunday.

Spurs did just that and were inches away from winning the match – Gio Lo Celso’s curling effort hitting the post late on, Jordan Pickford beaten.

Davies was superb in defence. WhoScored claim he made an impressive three tackles, and three clearances – second only to Eric Dier.

He was also efficient when in possession. The 67-time Wales international produced 65 successful passes from an attempted 78.
