Tottenham fans rave about Burnley star, amid reports they want to sign £30m star
Tottenham secured a fine 1-0 away win over Burnley on Wednesday night – and Spurs fans have applauded goalkeeper Nick Pope, for his display.
Lucas Moura’s header proved to be the only goal of the game at Turf Moor, as Spurs ushered aside a tricky looking tie against Burnley.
But in fairness, Tottenham more than deserved a place in the quarter-finals. They dominated from start to finish, and Burnley had Pope to thanks.
Pope denied Gio Lo Celso, probably the best chance of the match other than Lucas’ header – going one on one, only for Pope to claw away a lofted shot.
The England international also palmed away a stinging effort from Lucas on the edge of the area. Harry Kane had a couple of efforts, too.
Earlier this year, that Pope is the club’s first option to replace Hugo Lloris. It is believed he will cost around £30million.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Pope, on Twitter?
Indeed, Spurs might need a new goalkeeper next summer. That is because captain Hugo Lloris is out of contract in June. Pierluigi Gollini is on loan.
The latter is likely to sign permanently from Atalanta – but the chances are that Lloris might need replacing. Pope could be ideal as a replacement.
If Pope wants a move to London, then he will have done his chances no harm on Wednesday night. He was excellent for Burnley between the sticks.
Tottenham fans have responded on Twitter to the performance of Pope, with many full of praise. Some, want the England man signed.
