Tottenham fans praise ‘exceptional’ Danny Rose after beating Chelsea

Danny Rose returned to the Tottenham side on Tuesday night against Chelsea – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were blown away by the defender’s performance.

The 28-year-old defended well against the likes of Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi, as Spurs earned a narrow 1-0 home win in the first leg of a Carabao Cup semi-final.

Harry Kane’s first-half penalty handed Mauricio Pochettino’s side the initiative for the second leg and they showed a gritty display to keep an attacking Chelsea side at bay.

Spurs had their backs against the wall for spells of the game, but their backline was resilient and have to take the plaudits for a strong showing.

Rose was a key part of the defence against Chelsea and proved why he’s still the man for the big games.

The left-back is battling teammate Ben Davies for the permanent starting position and the manager often rotates the pair, but it seems Rose has the nod for the crunch fixtures.

The England internatonal showed his maturity with some strong defending and had to contend with Chelsea’s unpredictable teenager sensation Hudson-Odoi, something he did well for the most part.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media were thrilled with Rose’s latest display and feel he was back to his best in the cup fixture with Chelsea.
