Tottenham fans left fuming at what the club made Mathys Tel do after losing 4-2 vs Wolves
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left fuming at the leadership group in their squad after what Mathys Tel was made to do after the defeat at Molineux.
Tottenham Hotspur slipped to a 17th Premier League defeat of the season as they were beaten 4-2 away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are now just two points behind them.
Losing against the Midlands club raises further doubts over the future of Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham with Thursday’s Europa League tie against Eintracht Frankfurt set to be decisive.
The Lilywhites’ supporters were already angry enough, however, they were further enraged after seeing what Mathys Tel was made do after the 4-2 loss.

Tottenham fans question leadership group allowing Mathys Tel to do interviews after Wolves defeat
Tottenham fans have expressed their frustration towards 19-year-old on-loan Mathys Tel being made to face up to the club’s media after losing at Mollineux.
The Frenchman’s time in North London has been quite frustrating as his minutes have been rather limited, along with Tottenham fans questioning how Postecoglou has been using Tel.
Speaking after the match, Tel admitted that Tottenham must learn from the mistakes they made at Wolves, as the hosts scored twice from errors made by Lucas Bergvall and Cristian Romero.
Meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario also made two howlers as the Italian international gifted Vitor Pereira’s team their first two goals.
Fans were also left wondering where was their captain, Cristian Romero, whose performance against Wolves proved to be rather woeful.
In the aftermath of the defeat, Spurs supporters took to X to question why Tel was the player who had to face the media rather than some of the team’s more senior players.
One fan said: “A teenager on loan sent out to do the interviews. Where are the senior players?? The lack of proper leadership in this group is shocking.”
Another claimed: “I rate that this kid clearly wants to face the adversity head-on but WHY are we rolling out a 19-year-old for an interview after that? Senior players don’t act senior on or off pitch, all too boring.”
There were further questions as to why Tel was forced to face the media: “Where’s our captain or leadership group? Sending out a 19-year-old loanee to do an interview is really poor from the squad.”
Finally, another supporter added: “Yeah, that’s it send the 19-year-old kid who’s on loan who’s had to wait patiently for his opportunity rather than any of the experienced players after yet another defeat. Embarrasing.”

Mathys Tel netted his second Premier League goal as he turned in Brennan Johnson’s cross in what proved to only be a consolation goal for the visitors.
