Tottenham fans impressed by Toby Alderweireld against Crystal Palace
Toby Alderweireld continued his impressive start to the season against Crystal Palace – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were blown away by his performance.
The 30-year-old has played every minute of the opening five league games and helped his team secure a 4-0 victory at home to Palace on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side ran riot in the first-half with four goals and showed what they are capable of in the top-flight.
The North London club have established themselves as top four regulars in recent years and once again should be pushing at the top end of the table.
Heung-Min Son managed a quick-fire brace, while Erik Lamela also got on the scoresheet and there was an own goal from Patrick van Aanholt.
Spurs will have been delighted with their quality in front of goal, but they also managed to keep a first clean sheet of the campaign.
Alderweireld has arguably been the standout defensive performer this season and was once again solid against Palace.
The 30-year-old centre-back was commanding with all defensive duties, but it was his quality on the ball that caught the eye.
He produced a stunning assist with a through ball to Son and was demonstrating his long-range passing all game.
