Tottenham fans fume at Danny Rose’s performance against Liverpool

Tottenham suffered a home defeat to runaway leaders Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter vented their anger towards defender Danny Rose for his performance.

Spurs were beaten 1-0 at home in the league fixture, as Brazilian Roberto Firmino scored in the first-half with an expert finish inside the box.

Jose Mourinho’s team did have chances to steal a point through Heung-Min Son and substitute Giovani Lo Celso, but ultimately the visitors looked the more authoritative during the contest.

Liverpool are now 16 points clear at the top of the table on their charge towards the title and surely nobody can stop them.

Meanwhile, Spurs sit eight-placed in the division table and they are nine points behind Chelsea in fourth.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media were particularly angry with Rose for his display.

The English left-back was starting his first game of 2020 following a return to injury and had real trouble dealing with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Rose, 29, was also extremely sloppy when in possession and was substituted off in the second-half after showing signs of rustiness.
