Tottenham fans excited as club linked with Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly rivalling Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City for Ajax defender Nouassir Mazraoui after facing the right-back in the Champions League semi-final last term – and Spurs fans are excited on Twitter.
that 21-year-old defender Mazraoui could be allowed to leave the Dutch champions in the January window, after a difficult start to the campaign despite last season’s stunning, trophy-laden term.
A four-time Morocco international, Mazraoui clocked up 48 league and cup appearances during 2018-19. He scored four goals and laid on five assists, as well as helping Ajax keep 21 clean sheets – appearing at right-back, left-back and holding midfield.

During that time, Ajax won the league and cup double and reached the Champions League semi-final. Inches away from the final, Lucas Moura’s hat-trick saw Spurs progress at the expense of Ajax.
Mazraoui is renowned for boasting plenty of pace for a defender, but also his ability on the ball which is similar to what you would expect from a central midfielder. He has a contract at Ajax until 2022, but it remains to be seen how much he would cost.
Tottenham fans have reacted to the reported news on Twitter that their club are interested in signing Mazraoui – though they face competition from Leicester City, Roma and Valencia. Many remember him from the semi-final and want him signed.
Am I the only one who is excited to hear rumors of our interest in Noussair Mazraoui?
He had a fantastic season with Ajax last year. Played well against us. Very versatile.

Always looked quality when Ive seen him play. Excellant going forward but with a good defensive head on him. Experinced for a 21 year old as well.

I like him. Surprised he has struggled for playing time. His versatility reminds of Kimmich.

very true

as much as we would love new signings realistically the position we are in now gives players like Japhet Tanganga, Troy Parrot and Oliver Skip and great platform to play and prove their talent like Kane did in 13/14 season
