Tottenham fans discuss Steven Bergwijn display at Chelsea on Twitter
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the performance of Steven Bergwijn after Spurs were beaten at Chelsea on Sunday.
Bergwijn, of course, forced his way into Antonio Conte’s starting lineup with his display against Leicester on Wednesday. It was the Dutchman who scored twice in stoppage-time to earn Tottenham the three points at the King Power Stadium.

Tottenham fans will be hoping that those heroics prove to be a turning point for Bergwijn in North London. Unfortunately, the trip to Stamford Bridge proved to be a frustrating one for Spurs.
Harry Kane had a goal controversially disallowed during the first-half. And Chelsea capitalised, scoring twice in 10 minutes after the break.

Tottenham did appear to improve after going 2-0 down. The introduction of Lucas Moura and Oliver Skipp appeared to make a big difference. And Bergwijn had an opportunity to halve the deficit. However, his acrobatic effort was kept out.
Obviously, it was not a day where any Tottenham player really shone. And it is a worry that Spurs have now suffered three defeats in one month against Thomas Tuchel’s side.
But plenty of Tottenham fans felt that Bergwijn was one of their best performers. He looked lively alongside Kane. And no Spurs player completed more dribbles than the 24-year-old, .
Tottenham fans will have always been wary of getting carried away off the back of Bergwijn’s brace in midweek. But they would have hoped for further positive signs.
‘Having a good game’: Tottenham fans praise Steven Bergwijn despite Chelsea loss
Understandably, it was a tough game to take many positives from for Tottenham. But Bergwijn received some credit from some of the fans on social media.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Tottenham fans were saying about Bergwijn after their defeat to Chelsea…
Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn have impressed me today. The formation and game plan was alwaya going to leave them feeding off scraps, but they’ve worked their socks off and offered something as a duo.

Eric Dier and Bergwijn the only positives from today

I think Bergwijn has been outstanding again today, picked the ball up and at times walked passed the defence
— Sam_THFC (@Sam_Botham)
Bergwijn having a good game our main threat. I’m afraid Conte got Tanganga wrong, he should’ve been off at half time.
— Scott (@Scott_N17)
Bergwijn Kane and winks only ones who done well today
— Flynn (@FlynnTHFC)
Matt Doherty and Steven Bergwijn being some our best players in back to back games was not on the cards
— adam (@AdamRJ99)
Bergwijn and Kane the only two that showed up today
— Herbo (@ManLikeGinola)
Kane and Bergwijn have been quite good when able to get the ball
