Tottenham fans discuss Marcel Sabitzer’s performance on Wednesday against England
England held on to a narrow 1-0 win over Austria on Wednesday night in the first of two warm-up games before Euro 2020. But the Three Lions could easily have drawn, or lost the match at the Riverside – with Marcel Sabitzer impressing. Tottenham fans discussed Sabitzer on Twitter, as he sparkled for Austria.
Sabitzer, 27, has long been linked with a move to Tottenham – ever since Spurs played RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Jose Mourinho watched in what was one of his early games in charge of the North London club. He was linked throughout his tenure with the Austrian.
That interest has seemingly remained, with reporting in March that he remains a target for the club this summer. During the course of the last season, Sabitzer had a hand in 16 goals during his 39 appearances from midfield. But he is about to enter the last year of his deal.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Sabitzer, after Austria display?
Back in January, Leipzig rate Sabitzer in the region of £30million and that is likely to be the case this time around. He showed some delightful touches in the final third on Wednesday night, proving a constant thorn to England’s midfield of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.
A lovely backheel to Sasa Kalajzdic in the first half saw the Stuttgart striker sweep an effort straight at Jordan Pickford. Then, a first-time effort from Sabitzer looped over Pickford in the second half – only to crash off the bar. Tottenham fans were impressed, and are keen to see him signed.
