Tottenham fans discuss 63-year-old as potential Mourinho successor

Crystal Palace were handed a blow last week when Lucien Favre turned down their managerial position. Now, Tottenham fans would like to see Daniel Levy pounce for the boss.

Spurs have been without a manager since Jose Mourinho was sacked in April. Ryan Mason oversaw first-team duties until the end of the campaign.

It’s been a bumpy ride since then. Antonio Conte was all set for the job but it fell through. See also, Paulo Fonseca who Tottenham got quite far down the line with, only to pull out of the running.

Gennaro Gattuso was another manager linked, although a backlash from the fans saw Tottenham knock that one on the head.

Tottenham need new players. With the managerial situation up in the air though, supporters are growing restless with discontent.

Some have discussed the possibility of Favre. He remains a free agent after pulling out of the race to get the top position at Selhurst Park.

It’s unclear why those negotiations broke down. Tottenham fans don’t really seem fussed as to why and want their club to appoint Favre.

Favre is a well known boss in European football. He’s managed Servette, Zurich, Hertha Berlin, Borussia Monchengladbach and Nice.

He is now on the lookout for a new job and with Tottenham in a pretty perilous position right now, they’d perhaps be wise to act.

Tottenham fans want Favre

The 63-year-old would be an interesting appointment. He’s proved a decent manager during his career and Tottenham could certainly do worse.

Indeed, it seems as though some fans want this tied up pretty quickly. In some sense, Spurs fans are no longer fussy and just want someone to come in and build something.
