Tottenham fans discuss Lucas Moura display vs Chelsea

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Lucas Moura after the forward’s display in the first-leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final with Chelsea on Wednesday.

Antonio Conte’s men have it all to do in the second-leg. They were beaten 2-0 by the Italian’s former club at Stamford Bridge. And in truth, they were probably fortunate not to be left with a greater mountain to climb.

Tottenham conceded two awful goals in the first-half. And they were unable to register a single attempt on goal before the interval.

They did offer more after the break. But it certainly seems fair to say that a number of players will have work to do to win Conte’s faith again.

However, one member of the squad who some fans did praise following the game was Lucas. The Brazilian, once again, worked his socks off to try and make things happen.

Sometimes his quality was not there when Tottenham needed a perfect pass, or a moment of composure. But plenty of supporters suggested that he was a rare positive.

Lucas has looked exciting since Conte’s arrival. He appears to have plenty of potential in that role around Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. And he came reasonably close to scoring with a half-chance midway through the second-half against the Blues.

Obviously, it was never going to be a night where any Tottenham player received universal praise. But clearly, many felt that Lucas could hold his high a lot higher than most.
