Tottenham fans discuss Joe Rodon display, as Spurs suffer defeat to Vitesse
Tottenham suffered a 1-0 against Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem away from home – but Spurs fans have applauded the display of Joe Rodon.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came into the match after two straight Premier League wins against Aston Villa and Newcastle United, sitting in fifth.
But having only managed four points in their first two games against Mura and Rennes, Spurs were looking to take control of the group with a win.
However, Spurs failed to do so. Tottenham lost 1-0 to the Eredivisie side, having made 11 changes to the team that beat Newcastle on Sunday.
It was another frustrating night in Europe – with Spurs having already had three of those. Losing to Pacos de Ferreira, and drawing with Rennes.
At the back, they were largely solid despite some pressure from Vitesse – who looked to press high. Wales defender Rodon was excellent, again.

Maximilian Wittek got the only goal of the night, lashing home a brilliant volley from the edge of the area to secure all three points for Vitesse.
Rodon, 23, was handed just his 18th appearance for Tottenham since joining the club in the summer of 2020 from Swansea, for a fee of £11million ().
While Spurs suffered defeat, many fans applauded Rodon for his display at the back. Some questioned why he does not start more often.
