Tottenham fans discuss Alfie Devine after FA Youth Cup win

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans took to Twitter to comment on Alfie Devine after the youngster got yet another goal this season as the under-18s beat Ipswich Town in the FA Youth Cup.

Spurs fans were expecting to watch Antonio Conte’s men take on Leicester City in the Premier League on Thursday. Unfortunately, the news emerged during the day that the fixture had been postponed.

The upside for the club’s youngsters is that it meant several of their supporters were keeping an eye on their progress against the Tractor Boys.

Jaden Williams broke the deadlock. And it was Devine who doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark. .

Of course, Tottenham fans were not at all surprised to see Devine get on the scoresheet in the 5-1 victory. It has been apparent for some time that the 17-year-old is destined for big things in North London.

In fact, he is a player former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly compared to Bruno Fernandes in private. And it certainly appears that the fans want Conte to look at giving the midfielder a few opportunities in the near future.

Plenty have lauded Devine for what proved to be his seventh goal of the season. And they have expressed their excitement about the level he can get to after another notable showing for the club’s under-18s.
