Tottenham fans destroy Danny Rose for Olympiakos performance

Danny Rose completed 90 minutes in Tottenham’s win over Olympiakos on Tuesday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter raged at their defender for his performance.

Spurs recorded a dramatic 4-2 home victory against the Greek club in the Champions League group stages, which secured their qualification to the knockouts rounds of the competition.

The North London club were rattled early on by the visitors, who raced into a deserved two-goal lead with goals from Youssef El-Arabi and Ruben Semedo within the opening 20 minutes.

But Spurs manager Jose Mourinho responded by substituting Christian Eriksen on for Eric Dier in the 29th minute and his team reduced the deficit through Dele Alli’s goal on the stroke of half-time.

The Premier League outfit were much bright in the second period, as Harry Kane (two) and Serge Aurier got on the scoresheet to wrap up three points.

Mourinho has now won both games since taking charge, but his team have conceded four goals combined against Olympiakos and West Ham.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media picked out Rose as a main problem in the defence and feel he has no future at the club.

With Ben Davies unavailable in midweek through injury, Rose come into the side at left-back and had a chance to impress his new manager.

But the 29-year-old was caught out defensively against Olympiakos’ dangerous wingers and he looks a shadow of the player he once was.
