Tottenham fans call for Winks sale as star’s decline continues

Tottenham fans have had their say on struggling Harry Winks.

The 25-year-old Spurs midfielder is a shell of his former self.

Whilst impressive in possession, Winks just doesn’t create enough or have the defensive nous for the fans’ liking.

Many of them are calling for his exit, even if just a matter of years ago he was one of their brightest young stars.

An article from really highlights Winks’ fall from grace.

It’s not been long at all since he was starring England and in the Champions League for Spurs.

Yet now he can’t get a string of games in the Premier League and is out of favour with Nuno Espirito Santo.

It was the same with Jose Mourinho last season and maybe it’s time for Winks to go.

That’s what the fans think at least.

He’s on a respectable and the Lilywhites would likely be able to gain a fee of up to £20m for him.

There are just too many players ahead of Winks at Spurs now, though.

In creative midfield areas there’s Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli.

Whilst in the pivot and in defensive areas of midfield there’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp.

That has Winks down as at least the 6th choice, and Nuno probably fancies a couple of academy stars above him at the moment too.

This really is a sad situation.

No Tottenham fan will begrudge Winks.

He clearly loves Tottenham and gives his all for the badge every time he plays.

Yet it looks like time is up for him at Spurs, especially seeing as he’s lost the love of a lot of the fans.

What have the supporters said?
