Tottenham fans are disappointed with reported interest in Jerome Boateng
Tottenham are being linked with Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng and the response from the club’s supporters on Twitter has been a negative one.
reports that the 32-year-old will not be renewing his contract with Bundesliga giants Bayern and his current deal with them expires at the end of this season.
The report states that London rivals Spurs and Arsenal are both eyeing the defender as a potential target, with the latter interested in his signature last summer.
Boateng, who has won eight Bundesliga titles and also a World Cup with Germany, is one of the most successful centre-backs in the game right now that has played on the elite stage for a decade.
He’s a ball-playing centre-back that has also won two Champions Leagues and participated in Bayern’s win last season, plus he’s still competing in Europe’s elite club competition this campaign.
The German has already made nine appearances for Bayern this season and is a defender with great composure, vision and experience.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media have suggested that the 32-year-old is not the type of target they should be focusing on and would rather find some fresh blood in the heart of defence.
They recently signed 23-year-old Wales international Joe Rodon to add to their centre-back options, but eventually they need to find a long-term replacement for Toby Alderweireld.
Here are some Spurs fans discussing Boateng:
Please no

He is going downhill and we don’t need ankther ageing centre back. We should concentrate on Kobak, Milenkovic or Skriniar

Would of been a great signing 10 years ago 😂

Boateng would be ok on a one year deal whilst Rodon and Tanganga develop, but I don’t really see the point when we still have Toby.

No, his 32. We need to be looking at younger talent. He’s a very good player, but he’s not exceptional enough to be worth the high wage and minimal long term return in my opinion. I also don’t think he’s quick enough for the prem.

Older, Injury prone and high wage. Unless levy somehow got him on a pay as you play deal then it doesn’t make sense for us.

Nah. Would prefer younger players coming through. Send him to Arsenal, the North London retirement home

No he is past his best hence why Bayern are getting rid
