Tottenham fans are all saying £20m Arsenal player should’ve been sent off vs Luton last night
Tottenham Hotspur fans seem to be in agreement over an incident involving Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior last night.
Arsenal picked up a 4-3 win at Luton Town to extend their lead at the top of the table to five points. But there was a moment in the second half that has caused a fair amount of frustration amongst Tottenham fans.
Former Spurs man Andros Townsend took a heavy touch on the edge of Luton’s box and attempted to make up for his error with a challenge on Jakub Kiwior.

The defender beat Townsend to the ball but his follow-through resulted in his studs landing high up on the winger’s shin.
And after Cristian Romero’s red card against Chelsea a few weeks back, Tottenham fans have taken issue with the fact that Kiwior wasn’t given his marching orders at Kenilworth Road.
Tottenham fans think Kiwior should have been sent off against Luton
The incident involving Kiwior and Townsend was checked by the VAR. But the officials were checking whether or not to award Arsenal a penalty, rather than a possible red card for Kiwior.
Of course, Romero was sent off in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea last month. He won the ball initially but his challenge was deemed to be serious foul play due to the force of the follow-through into the shin of Fernandez.

And many Spurs fans on social media believe the Argentine’s challenge was no different to that of Kiwior’s last night.
Indeed, one claimed they ‘fail to see the difference’ between the two incidents while another slammed the lack of consistency in terms of decision-making from the VAR.
One of the biggest sticking points when it comes to VAR is a lack of consistency on a weekly basis in the Premier League.
It’s difficult to define what is and what isn’t a red card at the moment as decisions seem to vary from one week to the next.
Nevertheless, it would have been incredibly harsh to send Kiwior off as his studs hit Townsend’s shin due to the way he landed after attempting a shot.
