Tottenham fans angry with Leeds United as Jack Clarke saga continues

Jack Clarke was left out of Leeds United’s 18-man squad as Marcelo Bielsa’s side beat Brentford 1-0 at Elland Road thanks to Eddie Nketiah’s winner – and Tottenham fans are fuming that their new player is not getting any game time.

Clarke, 18, has managed just one single appearance for Leeds this season, after clocking up 25 in all competition last term. During 2018-19, he found the back of the net on two occasions and wowed Leeds fans with his pace and skill.

It saw Spurs opt to spend an initial £10million to sign Clarke in the summer, in a fee could rise to £11.5million. Leeds opted to bring the Thorp Arch academy product back to Elland Road on loan from Tottenham.

Since Clarke rejoined, Leeds have re-signed Jack Harrison on loan – as well as bringing in Illan Meslier, Nketiah, Helder Costa and Ben White on loan. The Whites have six loanees in their squad, though only five can be included in a matchday squad.

Meslier is a substitute goalkeeper while Harrison and White are both considered starters. Nketiah has two goals in two, and Costa has three assists in four appearances. It has seen Clarke only make the league bench twice out of four games.

Tottenham fans are not happy with the decision to loan Clarke back to Leeds and have urged their board to recall the winger, in order to give him game time perhaps with Spurs’ under-23 side or out on loan elsewhere.
