Tottenham fans amazed by Serge Aurier’s display against Manchester City
Tottenham recorded a statement win over Manchester City on Saturday evening – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out their defender Serge Aurier as one of numerous brilliant performers.
Spurs beat Man City 2-0 at home in the Premier League fixture, which is a result that temporarily lifts them to the top of the table.
It was a gritty defensive performance from Jose Mourinho’s side against an opponent that dominated the ball, but they looked so dangerous on the counter attack.
Heung-Min Son opened the scoring inside five minutes, as he got on the end of a lifted through ball from Tanguy Ndombele.
Substitute Giovani Lo Celso added a second in the 65th minute with his first touches of the ball and the North London club proved why they some are putting their name int he mix to be title contenders.
A selection of Spurs supporters on social media believe that Aurier was immense on the weekend, mentioning how much he’s grown under Mourinho.
The 27-year-old right-back has always been vulnerable with his back to goal, but looks much improved in that aspect under Mourinho and was part of a formidable backline on Saturday.
