Tottenham eyeing up injured £13m defender ahead of January transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur are looking at a number of defensive options for January and remain keen on Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.
Kelly has been among the names getting a mention when it comes to Spurs’ hunt for new defenders in the winter window. Currently injured, Kelly is believed to have caught the eye of Tottenham’s recruitment team already.
The has also caught the eye of Liverpool, although there are apparently some doubts inside Anfield about whether he’s good enough.
However, despite those concerns at Liverpool, reports today that Kelly remains of interest to Tottenham ahead of January.
“The Lilywhites continue to have an interest in Premier League defenders Tosin Adarabioyo and the currently injured but versatile Lloyd Kelly, of Fulham and Bournemouth respectively. Both players are out of contract next summer,” Gold said.
Lloyd Kelly one of many who Tottenham could sign
It’s certainly going to be interesting looking at Tottenham and who they decide to sign in January.
Kelly is just one of a number of names being linked with a move to the club.
Radu Dragusin has apparently been watched by Spurs and his agent keeps bringing him up in conversation.
Jean-Clair Todibo consistently gets brought up as well and it’s been reported that talks have already been held over that potential deal.
Clearly, Tottenham have a defender on the agenda and it’s looking like a case of just who it might be now.
When it comes to Kelly, he’s clearly an ‘‘ talent but given he is currently out injured, you’d have to wonder if he’s the smartest signing right now.
Tottenham need someone to come in and hit the ground running from the off. As it stands, Kelly probably isn’t that man.
However, he’s someone Postecoglou obviously likes and might not be the most expensive name on the list as well.
It seems, then, that we have a case of wait and see when it comes to Spurs and their January business.
