Tottenham exit ‘postponed’ after latest round of talks on Wednesday for £26m player

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer of transfers has been a real rollercoaster when it comes to players departing the club.

The same cannot be said for player arrivals with Ange Postecoglou still awaiting the first major signing of the summer at Tottenham.

Archie Gray has marked the biggest piece of business so far with Timo Werner arriving on another loan and Yang Min-hyeok slanding in January.

Daniel Levy and Johan Lange have had no issues in offloading unwanted players with nine members of the squad now out of the door this summer.

It could soon become 10 but the sale of one of the players has now been postponed after the latest round of talks held on Wednesday.

Tottenham exit postponed after talks on Wednesday

After 12 months at the club, Postecoglou has had plenty of time to assess the bloated squad which he inherited from Antonio Conte.

Clearly, there are a lot of players who simply have not cut it for the Australian who is looking to really make this side his own this summer.

Postecoglou has told Tottenham that he would like to see a new striker signed with Premier League experience.

Talks are now ongoing between Tottenham and Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke.

However, it is the exit of Emerson Royal which remains the closest piece of business nearing completion in north London.

According to , talks between Spurs and AC Milan on Wednesday were unable to find an absolute resolution for the Brazilian’s signature.

It is said the final yes from Spurs may have been postponed a few days after Milan put forward their offer of €15m (£13m) plus €2m (£1.7m) in add ons for the right-back who Spurs signed for .

However, Spurs are looking for the €15m (£13m) with €3m (£2.5m) in add ons; so the two clubs are extremely close and it could be resolved over the coming days.

Emerson Royal nearing Tottenham exit for AC Milan

Perhaps the reason why these talks are still alive is the fact that Emerson sees this move to AC Milan as a ‘dream’.

The Brazilian has not hid his pleasure in being linked with the Italian giants this summer which may well have boosted Milan in their plans of signing him.

However, it seems as if Spurs are playing hard ball and are wanting to squeeze every last penny they can get out of Milan for the right-back.
