Tottenham should consider Dzeko as competition for Kane
Tottenham don’t have an effective back-up for Harry Kane and it has cost them over the last 12 months. There are few top-tier strikers that would be happy to be a back-up, but one would be Edin Dzeko.
The Bosnian international has told that he would be open to a return to the Premier League in the future. Dzeko previously played for Manchester City, scoring 72 goals in 189 appearances for the club.
Over the past two seasons, Kane has emerged as one of Europe’s best strikers due to his performances in the Champions League and at the World Cup.

However, Tottenham can’t expect him to perform to his peak if he is expected to play every week. Kane needs to be rested for his own physical wellbeing.
Dzeko would represent the perfect competition for Kane, as he is good enough to put the England international’s place under threat. This is something that Fernando Llorente was never going to do realistically.
Meanwhile, Dzeko would be happy to play a supporting role, as he is now 32. He won’t expect to start every week. As a short-term fix, the Roma striker would be the perfect signing for Tottenham.
