Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has missed chance will Swansea loan spell

Tottenham have had a number of players out on loan over the last nine months and it will be interesting to see if an🐻y are given a shot in the first team next season.

Cameron Carteꦐr-Vickers is a defender that has come through the ranks at Spurs and has made four senior appearances for th🌞em.

But his season-long loan out at Swansea City in the꧒ Championship during the last year has surely blown his chance ofꦑ a first-team opportunity next campaign.

The 21-year-old has been at the Liberꦍty Stadium for the entire season and found it difficult in the fi🐲rst few months to stay in the team.

He’s been a regular in the second half of the season and made 30 appearances ac♐ross all competitions, but has hardly been a standout player for Swansea.

Carter-Vickers is a centre-back that was being tipped to break into the Spurs senior set-up at one stage, but has been unable to develop to that ൩level yet.

The USA international has shown he is composed on the ball, but has been caught out defensively for Swansea at times and stepping up from the Championship to the ꦺPremier League next year looks too sizeable a task for him.

Mauricio Pochettino may need some extra options in defence, but Carter-Vickers doesn’t look anywhere near the standard of promising young centre-backs Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez that are already in ൩the Spurs squad.
