Tottenham defender Ben Davies’ ‘hairline fracture’ is not as bad as it sounds – journalist

Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal in the North London derby right after the international break, and Ben Davies may well be back from his injury for that game.

The Welshman, branded as a ‘magnificent’ player, went down after a knock against Sporting Lisbon earlier this month. He completed that game, but further checks ruled him out of the clash against Leicester last weekend and Wales’ games during this international break.

Tottenham defender Ben Davies’ ‘hairline fracture’ is not serious

Football journalist Tom Barclay has shared an update on Davies, who has sustained a hairline fracture on the bone underneath his knee.

That sounds like a serious issue, but Tottenham fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the journalist has claimed that Davies’ injury is not as bad as it sounds.

He told : “Ben Davies has a knee injury which he picked up, I think, in the game against Sporting because he went down injured and they sort of suggested it was in that game but he played the rest of it.

“I’m led to believe there’s a hairline fracture on the bone underneath his knee, which sounds pretty bad, but I don’t think it’s actually as serious as it sounds by any stretch.”

The North London Derby next Saturday is shaping up to be an exciting one for both sides.

Arsenal are on top of the Premier League table at the moment, while Spurs are the only side in the division yet to lose a game this season apart from Manchester City.

To make the game more exciting, reports have revealed that Arsenal are set to welcome Martin Odegaard and Oleksandr Zinchenko back from their injuries, which is a huge boost for the Gunners.

Tottenham too could have good news with Davies, whose injury is apparently not a serious one.
