Tottenham could now ‘lower the price’ and sell their £42m player because he’s not happy with the club
Tottenham Hotspur have a lot of work to do in the summer transfer window.
There will be a lot of changes at Spurs in the coming months, irrespective of whether they win the Europa League or not.
TBR Football can confirm that Ange Postecoglou is set to leave Tottenham, and multiple managers have been linked with his job in recent weeks.
That decision is still some time away, and along with that, Daniel Levy has a few calls to make regarding some of Tottenham’s players as well.
Cristian Romero is one of them.
Tottenham could lower their asking price for Cristian Romero
Cristian Romero has been at Tottenham since the summer of 2021.
The Argentina international initially joined the club on loan, but that move was later made permanent for a fee of £42.5 million ().
Romero has been an integral part of Spurs’ side since, and he has produced several fantastic performances for the club.
But, this season, Romero has had several injury issues, and the defender’s form has not been great either – he has made plenty of mistakes.
TBR Football revealed earlier in April that Cristian Romero had decided to leave Tottenham and had told his representatives that he wants to move to Spain.
The defender admitted as much in a recent interview as well, and now claim that he could force his way out of Spurs if an offer arrives.
Tottenham value Romero at €75 million (£64.1m), but the report claims that the player’s ‘discontent with the leadership could lower the price’.

Possible replacements for Cristian Romero at Tottenham
Romero will enter the final two years of his contract this summer, and all signs point towards an exit.
If the Argentina international does end up leaving, Tottenham will have to dive into the market to bring in a top-class replacement.
TBR Football exclusively revealed in March that Tottenham remain interested in signing Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen.
We revealed that Sporting CP’s Ousmane Diomande is also high on Tottenham’s list of targets to replace Romero this summer.
It remains to be seen which one of the above two names, if either, Spurs will try to sign once the window opens.
