Tottenham could now be offered chance to sign rapid striker who Arsenal sold for just £500k

Donyell Malen failed to make an impact at Arsenal, but he could be offered the chance to return to North London and play for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, who has reported on the current situation of Malen.

So, what has been reported about Tottenham Hotspur and former Arsenal forward Donyell Malen? Let’s take a look.

Former Arsenal forward Donyell Malen linked with Tottenham Hotspur

Well, according to journalist Dean Jones in , Tottenham Hotspur could be offered the chance to sign Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.

The reporter has claimed that Malen could leave Dortmund if the Bundesliga club can bring in winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Jones has claimed that “intermediaries are touting him around for a spell in the Premier League and Spurs are expected to be targeted as part of that”, noting that one of the problems that Malen has had at Dortmund this season is that “he has preferred to tuck inside rather than play wide”.

Interestingly, Malen is a former Arsenal prospect. The 24-year-old, who is “extremely fast and very dangerous”, , was on the books of Arsenal from 2015 until 2017.

The Netherlands international could not break into the Arsenal first team, and, according to , the Gunners sold him to PSV in 2017 for just £500,000.

Earlier this month, reported that Arsenal are still keeping tabs on Malen. The report claimed interest in the forward from Liverpool and Manchester United as well.

My View: Tottenham Hotspur should not sign Donyell Malen

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur should not sign Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.

I do not think that Spurs have any need to sign another wide player, especially someone who is not ‘elite’.

Malen has scored five goals in 15 Bundesliga matches this season. The forward scored nine goals and gave five assists in 26 Bundesliga games last season.

Yes, the former Arsenal prospect can play in a number of positions in attack, including as a centre-forward, but he is not ‘top tier’.

Raphinha has also been linked with Spurs, and I believe that if the North London club do eventually decide to sign a wide player in January, then they should go for the Barcelona star instead.
