Tottenham could make last-minute bid for £50m striker who Jurgen Klopp says has ‘so much potential’

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a late move to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth before the transfer window shuts tomorrow.

Spurs have completed some really good business in this window already, but they aren’t done just yet. It looks like Ange Postecoglou wants to strengthen his side even more, and Solanke is on his radar.

Tottenham could make last-minute bid to sign Dominic Solanke

Tottenham lost Harry Kane in the summer, but they decided against signing an out-and-out striker to replace him.

To be fair to Spurs, they have done really well without a natural number nine so far, but Ange Postecoglou will have to address that at some point.

claim now that Tottenham are ready to make a move right away to sign a new striker, and Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth is their main target.

The report claims Spurs are now considering a late swoop to sign the 26-year-old and are ready to try and push through £50 million-plus deal before the window closes tomorrow night.

Bournemouth would ideally like to keep Solanke and will demand a big fee to let him go, but the report says the Cherries are looking for potential replacements ‘in case an offer comes in that is too good to refuse’.

Solanke is having a fine season at Bournemouth, having scored 14 goals in all competitions so far – more than Tottenham captain Son Heung-min.

Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Solanke

A move to Tottenham, if it happens, would definitely be a huge step up for Dominic Solanke.

The Englishman has had spells at Chelsea and Liverpool in his career already, but unfortunately for him, it didn’t work out at either club.

However, he always had huge potential – just ask Jurgen Klopp, who worked very closely with him during his time at Anfield.

Klopp recently said about Solanke: “I am so happy for Dom! When we signed him we were so excited. He had so much potential.

“The talent was obvious. How it is sometimes, he made the right decision to go to Bournemouth. Wonderful kid.”
