Tottenham confirm Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Luton on loan
defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Championship outfit Lut🌳on Town on loan for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old academy product is heꦇading back to England’s second tier, after spending the first half of the season at Stoke City.
That move🌟 didn’t really work out, with Carter-Vickers making 15 appearances for the Potters but none since Nove𓆉mber.

The USA international has now headed to Luton to try ꦫand get regular minutes, with the club hoping to avoid relegation to 𓂃League One.
Town are currently bottom of the pile on goal difference🍎, six points adrift of safety.
The loan move is Carter-Vickers’ fifth tem🍨porary switch, and one has the feeling it could be his last chance to impress with his contract expiring in the summer of 2021.
The Southend-born centre-back has only ever made four appearances ꧒for the Spurs f🍌irst-team, so he needs a strong stint.

With Jan Vertonghen having not yet penned a new deal there is perhaps some added motivation for him to take his chance with boꦅth hands.
That said, the emergenꦐce of youngster Japhet Tanganga could make life difficult.
Spurs fans react
Some Spurs fans on social media didn’t seem overly affected by Carter-Vickers’ loan exit, although one or two did express their frustration at the seeming l🔯ack of development:
Time to just sell him s𝔉ure𝄹ly? He’s had more loans than nat west!

Had high hopes for this guy ??♂️
— Peter Smith (@92pds)
just let the poor guy go permanently
— big tanguy (@red_fly10)
He’s gonna be 44 and we’ll still loan him out

About time it was permanent isn’t it
— Mick Pedley (@michaelpedley)
Forgot he existed tbh.

Still think he can become a great CB. Remember watching him play at one of the youth levels v Chelsea and🍌 the commentator got bored of saying his name cos he won every header, tackle & block ? “there’s Cameron again” “gu💮ess who’s won header” “he’s everywhere”
— george b. (@honest_spurs)
Questionable how much value he will ever really have. None of the teams who loan him ever seem to want💞 to buy or keep ?

There was a time when I thought CCV would become what JT 🌠appears to have become. I really thought he’d progress into snr team.
