Tottenham can sign the perfect back-up as Rangers reportedly set price tag

Regardless of whether Harry Kane stays or goes this summer, Tottenham need to sign a striker. Kane’s future remains up for debate but it looks nailed on that a permanent deal will not be forthcoming for Carlos Vinicius. So, Tottenham need a striker and Rangers star Alfredo Morelos is ideal.

Kane, 27, continues to be linked with a move to Manchester City among other European big hitters. He has made it clear to Spurs that he wants to leave to enhance his chances of winning silverware. So, Tottenham need a striker to replace Vinicius and might even need two.

Well, the perfect second-choice striker has emerged itself this summer. That is, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola – . They state that Porto have made a £10.3million to sign Morelos, but that Rangers want £14.5million for their Colombia international.

Rangers star Morelos gives Tottenham a plan B behind Kane

The chances are that Kane is probably going to remain at Tottenham given the extensive asking price Daniel Levy has placed on Kane’s head. The England skipper is worth £150million according to Levy. Even Manchester City may struggle to afford such a move in the current pandemic.

Spurs need a back-up for Kane, but one that offers something different. That ability to change games in a moment. Morelos is capable of that and at £14.5million, he is the ideal kind of price for a striker that will not start every week. He offers physicality and the aggression Spurs sometimes lack.

Steven Gerrard has been linked with Tottenham after shining as Rangers gaffer, but the Rangers man Spurs need is Morelos.
