Tottenham can actually sign ‘diamond’ for bargain fee before June 14th, and he wants to join
Tottenham are able to sign Timo Werner for a bargain fee before June 14th – thanks to the conditions of his loan from RB Leipzig.
That is according to BILD in Germany.
So, what is the latest on Timo Werner at Tottenham? Let’s take a look…
Tottenham can only trigger Timo Werner clause before June 14th
Well, it has been well documented that Spurs hold an option to buy the Germany international on a permanent basis when his loan deal expires this summer.
Now – thanks to – some further details on the situation have arisen.
The German news outlet believe Tottenham are able to sign Werner for just €17m (£15m) – a bargain for an experienced international in this day and age – but must trigger the purchase clause before June 14th.

It is also said that the 28-year-old wants to stay in N17 having enjoyed his time with Spurs so far.
Werner has impressed since arriving on loan in January, scoring goals while also providing two assists in seven Premier League appearances under Ange Postecoglou – who called the German a “quality player” after the recent win over Brentford.
Spurs could pull off a masterstroke
Interestingly, June 14th is before the start of UEFA EURO 2024 this summer.
Werner – who has been tipped to become a “little diamond” for Postecoglou – is expected to be part of Hansi Flick’s Germany squad, and is also in contention to start.
Therefore, if the Tottenham No.16 goes on to enjoy a memorable tournament in his homeland, Spurs could actually pull off a special bit of business before the 2024/25 campaign even begins.

Should Werner shine at UEFA EURO 2024, his price tag could soar back up to around the Chelsea spent to sign him in June 2020, meaning Tottenham get themselves a £15m bargain.
Of course, this is all hypothetical, but with goals in 57 games for Germany, Werner is certainly capable of becoming a shrewd capture for Spurs, if the north Londoners choose to sign him permanently.
