Tottenham are trying to understand if £50m player actually wants to sign for them

Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment seems to be heavily focused around signing talented youngsters this summer after signing Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.

Indeed, Spurs are very much shopping in the youth market at the moment after signing Bergvall and Gray.

Bergvall is expected to become a star at Spurs, while Gray has apparently already impressed the coaching staff at Tottenham.

Interestingly, Tottenham are now said to be keen on another talented teenager.

Desire Doue is someone Spurs are said to be keen on, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on , Spurs are now sounding out the situation to figure out whether or not Doue wants to sign.

Jacobs shared what he knows about the youngster.

“Bayern and PSG are the two that are in active negotiations. It’s head to head between them at the moment. In the last two weeks we’ve seen Tottenham enter the race as well to try to understand if the player would like to go there. Rennes argue they wouldn’t want to sell and are looking for €60m (£50m) or more,” Jacobs said.

Doue to Spurs may be difficult

Desire Doue could be a strong signing for Tottenham, but this could be a very difficult deal to do.

With Bayern Munich and PSG sniffing around, a move to Spurs may not appeal all that much to Doue.

Make no mistake about it, Bayern and PSG are two bona fide Champions League contenders, while Spurs aren’t even playing in the Champions League next season.

That said, Tottenham have shown in recent times that they can beat big clubs to these sorts of signings.

Spurs beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Radu Dragusin, while they also managed to pip Barcelona to the signing of Lucas Bergvall.

Doue to Tottenham may be a difficult deal to do, but there may well be life in this one.
